Q. When is the library open and where is it located?
A. The Buena Park Library is open Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 8:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The library is closed on Sundays. Holiday closure dates
The Buena Park Library is located at 7150 La Palma Avenue in Buena Park, California. The library is on the South side of La Palma Avenue, between Knott Avenue and Western Aveune. Free parking is available in a dedicated library parking lot.

Q. Does the Library have passport services and when is the passport office open?
A. The Buena Park Library offers passport services Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Please link to our Passport Services page for more information.
Q. How do I get a library card?
A. California residents may get a free library card by visiting the check-out desk in the library, filling out a short application, and presenting a California Driver License or Identification Card, a Matricula Consular card, or similar official ID. Children under the age of 18 may obtain their own library card with parental consent and identification. You may also pre-register for a library card, online, by clicking on the link below. These cards may be picked up, in person, at the check-out desk within the following six months.

Q. How long may I borrow materials?
A. The loan period for books, magazines, and audio books is 21 days. DVDs have a loan period of 7 days. All items may be renewed ten times if no other patron has placed a hold on them. You can access your account online to check due dates and renew the items you have out.
Q. What if I return my items late?
A. A charge of 25 cents per day, per item is placed on your card if an item is overdue.
Q. How do I check out DVDs?
A. You must be at least 18 years old to check out DVDs. The loan period for DVDs is 7 days.
Q. I would like to conduct a program at the library. Who do I contact?
A. If you are interested in conducting a program at the library, please carefully read and fill out a Program Proposal Form (attached to the bottom of this page).

Q. May I request a Marriage or Birth Certificate at the Library?
A. The library does not maintain or keep marriage or birth certificate records. To obtain that information, please refer to the following sources:
